Love Rugby League understands that current Hull FC boss Richard Agar is set to be unveiled as the new head coach of the Wakefield Wildcats.

Agar is set to leave the Black & Whites at the end of the season and has widely been tipped to succeed John Kear at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.

The Wildcats confirmed on Monday that they had interviewed seven candidates and were expecting to announce the new coach by the end of this week.

Agar has been at Hull FC for seven years and took the role of head coach following the departure of Peter Sharp in 2008.

Wakefield are expected to make an official announcement shortly.
