Achurch leaving Leeds

Forward Mitch Achurch has confirmed that he will be leaving Leeds Rhinos at the end of the 2016 season.

Achurch is off-contract at the end of this year and has been told by Leeds he will not be re-signed.

The Australian has yet to decide where he will stay in the UK, where he runs a gym, or head home.

“I am off contract, but I got told last year I won’t be at Leeds after this season,” Achurch told The Yorkshire Evening Post.

“I knew this would be my last year at Leeds. There’s no contract talks with Leeds at the moment, so I’m a free agent.

“I don’t have any plans at the moment, so when I get a game I just try and play well.”

The 27-year old joined the Rhinos in 2013 from Penrith and has made 69 appearances for the club.
