100 days to go until the Rugby League World Cup

Today, Thursday July 18, marks 100 days to go until the Rugby League World Cup 2013 kicks off with a double header at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff.

England play Australia in the opening game, followed by Wales‘ clash with Italy, on a day which also includes the opening ceremony, billed as “the greatest show that rugby league has ever seen”.

RLWC2013 Tournament General Manager, Sally Bolton said: “The 100 days to go milestone brings us another significant step closer to delivering the best Rugby League World Cup the game has ever seen.

“We kick off at the Millennium Stadium with arguably the best fixture in international Rugby League. England against Australia always brings out the passion of both sets of fans and in the Millennium Stadium; under the closed roof, the atmosphere will be electric.

“With 40% of our tickets gone, we know there is huge interest in both that fantastic opener and the tournament as a whole. Data shows that a significant number of our sales are to new fans, which is terrific.”

As part of the milestone, 100 specially-branded RLWC2013 balls are being hidden, with finders winning tickets to their local World Cup match.

We at Love Rugby League have hidden one of the balls – we will be posting clues on our channels in the next few days.
