Holbrook disappointed by Morgan Knowles ban

St Helens coach Justin Holbrook says he is disappointed with Morgan Knowles’ four match ban.

Knowles, 21, was sent off in the win at Catalans last weekend for a dangerous throw on Dragons prop Thibaut Margalet.

He will now sit out Saints’ next four matches – Huddersfield (A), Salford (H), Warrington (A) and Leeds (H) – after being handed a ban by the RFL disciplinary committee this week.

Holbrook said: “It’s disappointing. It was a dangerous tackle and I’m not here to deny that.

“The severity of the ban is harsh, there was no malice in it, it was just one of those accidental ones that went wrong.

“But I do acknowledge it was dangerous and unfortunately he will miss four weeks which is disappointing.”

Holbrook was speaking to the press at a special open event held by St Helens at the Totally Wicked Stadium for the club’s junior members.

They got the chance to meet the players and collect autographs, before heading into the north stand concourse to enjoy games and fun activities from the club’s foundation.
