Cas aim to continue Leeds dominance

The highlight of the Betfred Super League weekend comes on Friday evening when third-placed Leeds Rhinos host leaders Castleford at Headingley (Castleford 11/10 – Grand Final outright).

The Tigers have set the pace this season and will hope to put out another big statement of intent by overcoming their West Yorkshire rivals on their own patch (Leeds 11/8, Castleford 8/13, draw 20/1 – match betting).

Cas are six points clear at the top, with the Rhinos just behind Salford Red Devils in the table, even though the two sides have a virtually identical overall record from their 18 games played.

Daryl Powell’s leaders have had the better of the two meetings so far, but the Rhinos will be keen for revenge after being hammered 66-10 at the start of the campaign and then 29-18 in the Magic Weekend showdown last month.

The action begins on Thursday when strugglers Widnes host Leigh. Bottom-placed Vikings will hope for a much-needed victory over the Centurions directly above them as they battle to avoid relegation via the Qualifiers at the end of the season (Widnes 8/15, Leigh 6/4 match betting).

There are three other games on Friday, with Super 8s hopefuls Huddersfield (7/4) entertaining current eighth-placed Wigan (1/2), while Hull FC (2/7) host Wakefield (11/4) and Salford look to maintain their impressive year with a victory at St Helens, who are sixth (Saints 4/9, Salford 9/5, draw 20/1 – match betting).

There’s just one game on Saturday as 10th-placed Warrington look for vital home points against the team directly above them, Catalan Dragons (Wolves 4/11, Catalan 11/5, draw 25/1 – match betting).
