Elijah Taylor and Junior Sa’u to play for Leeds against New Zealand

Former New Zealand internationals Elijah Taylor and Junior Sa’u will face their fellow countrymen tonight when they line-up for Leeds.

Salford forward Taylor and Keighley centre Sa’u will guest against their homeland with the chance to play alongside friend Bodene Thompson in his final game for the Rhinos.

Earlier this week, the Rhinos announced that former player Adam Cuthbertson would guest in the team. The club have also invited their former player Jimmy Keinhorst, who won the 2015 Grand Final with the Rhinos.

Taylor won 11 caps for the Kiwis between 2011-17, whilst Sa’u was capped nine times and also represented Samoa.

Leeds fans will also get a chance to see new signing Luke Hooley for the first time since joining from Championship Grand Finalists Batley.

The Rhinos will say farewell to departing players Brad Dwyer, Muizz Mustapha, Bodene Thompson and Tom Briscoe at Headingley.

Liam Sutcliffe, who will join Hull ahead of next season, won’t feature though due to injury.

Leeds will be without James Bentley and Richie Myler after they were withdrawn following discussions between the Rhinos and Ireland ahead of the World Cup.

The Rhinos will also be without winger Ash Handley, who has failed a late fitness test. He is replaced by Liam Tindall, who has returned from international duty with England Knights.

Tonight’s game will be streamed on the Our League channel, costing £10 on game day (6pm kick-off).
