Sarginson says Wigan out to finetune attack

Dan Sarginson says Wigan have yet to show in attack what they can do this season.

Wigan posted 40 points for only the second time this year as they beat Leeds at Magic Weekend.

The Warriors have averaged 20 points per game so far in Super League and Sarginson says they can do better.

“I don’t think we’ve really shown what we can do attack so far this year,” he told the club website.

“Against Leeds we got more points on the board than in previous games. A couple of individual errors let us down with nilling them but that’s a personal thing that we need to work on.

“Our middles were excellent though and have been for most of the season. They’re really helping to keep our defence tight, I think we just need to work more on our attack now.”

The England international has featured at fullback this year in the absence of Sam Tomkins and but is now back in the centres.

“My mind has been on the full-back position for a few months but it’s good to be back at centre,” he said.

“I was a bit rusty on the weekend defensively but hopefully I can build week on week and get back to playing how I was last year.”
