Ashurst stays with Wakefield

Wakefield forward Matty Ashurst has re-resigned with the Wildcats for the next two years.

Ashurst, who joined Wakefield last year from Salford, is tied to the club until the end of the 2018 season.

The 26-year old, who debuted for St Helens in 2009, has made more than 150 appearances in Super League.

This season Ashurst has scored one try in 13 matches for the Wildcats.

Wakefield chairman Michael Carter confirmed the news, tweeting: “Delighted to announce that Matty Ashurst has agreed a new deal to stay with us til 2018.”
