Garbutt apologises for punch

Leeds front-rower Mitch Garbutt has apologised for his punch on James Tamou that saw him sent off against North Queesland in the World Club Challenge.

Garbutt was red-carded for dropping Tamou in the 71st minute.

The prop has been banned for the next two Rhinos game.

“It’s not something that I am about,” Garbutt told the BBC.

“I don’t condone violence and I sought James out after the game to apologise. I accepted the ban and I’m very disappointed I won’t be out there with the boys for the next couple of weeks.”

“Everyone that knows me knows I’m not the sort that does that kind of thing.”
