Hull KR coach Chris Chester is very pleased that the Robins took a gamble on signing French hooker John Boudebza ahead of the 2015 campaign.

The French dummy half was recommended to Chris Chester by France coach Richard Agar, and the former FC Lezignan man proved to be one of the season’s most impressive players.

“We took a big gamble and risk on John and it’s paid off,” said Chester, according to the Hull Daily Mail.

“He’s a very consistent player that tackles well above his weight, and gives us plenty of energy from the bench.

“I’m looking forward to another big year from John. He’s got another year left on his contract but the biggest challenge is to back up what he did in 2015.”
