SL Preview: Warrington v Leeds (Fri)

Warrington welcome Chris Hill and Joel Monaghan back into their 19-man squad to take on Super League champions Leeds at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on Friday.

Hill and Monaghan were left out of the the squad that travelled to Bradford last week, while Richie Myler remains sidelined with a medial ligament injury sustained during the victory over Wigan.

Micky Higham is also expected to play against Leeds after sitting out the game against the Bulls. 

Meanhwile teenager Alex Foster, who made his debut in last week’s game against Widnes Vikings, retains his place in the Rhinos squad. Youngsters Jordan Baldwinson and Thomas Minns are also in with a chance of playing against Tony Smith’s Wolves, who currently sit a spot above fourth-placed Leeds in the Super League table.

Warrington 19-man squad: Atkins, Bridge, Briers, Carvell, Cooper, Currie, Grix, Higham, Hill, Hodgson, McCarthy, J. Monaghan, M. Monaghan, Morley, Ratchford, Riley, Waterhouse, Westwood, Wood.

Leeds 19-man squad: Hardaker, Jones-Bishop, Watkins, Moon, Hall, Burrow, McShane, Peacock, Ablett, Kirke, Clarkson, Achurch, Moore, Keinhorst, Singleton, Sutcliffe, Minns, Baldwinson, Foster.

Prediction: Will be tight but Warrington are in brilliant form at the moment and home advantage sould see them win.

Warrington’s Ryan Atkins has scored a try in each of the Wolves’ last four meetings with Leeds.
