St Helens have signed youngster Adam Swift on a two-year deal.

The 18-year-old made his debut against Salford u20s last Friday and can play at either stand off or full back.

He agrees terms from Blackbrook with already a number of honours to his name.

The youngster – who is the grandson of long serving member of BARLA member Harold Swift MBE – has played GB’s Community Lions in France and also against the Australian Schoolboys in December 2010.

“Adam is a player we have tracked for a while,” Head of Youth, Mike Rush, said. “He is a good young lad, with a great attitude and will be a welcome addition to the Saints.

“He had a great amateur career and we hope he continues that development at the club.

“We are very grateful to Blackbrook, their volunteers and coaches who give up their valuable time to help these players achieve.”
