Bulls confirm Walker signing

Bradford have confirmed the signing of former Leeds centre Chev Walker from Hull KR.

Walker, 27, has signed a one-year deal at Odsal with the option for a longer period, and has been out of action for the entire season after breaking his leg at Headingley last season.

He said: “It’s been a long slog but there was never a doubt that I’d be back playing again. I’m one of those people who believe that if you work hard, then things will happen for you. The light at the end of the tunnel was a long way away but I’ve got there now and it’s brilliant.

“Talking to a few boys, Mick Potter is just the kind of Coach I want to work with.  He always demands the best of you which is ideal for me.  I like a coach who will give me some kind of role. I want someone breathing down my neck and giving me a bit of direction and I can’t wait for pre season training to begin.”

Walker made 163 appearances for Leeds before switching to rugby union with Bath. He returned to league with Justin Morgan’s Hull KR but has seen progress hampered by injury.

Bulls chairman Peter Hood added: “Chev is a high quality player who has represented his country on 12 occasions.  We are delighted he has agreed to join the club and feel he will do well in this environment.”
