Warrington name new CEO

Warrington Wolves have appointed their head of rugby operations Karl Fitzpatrick as their new CEO.

Fitzpatrick replaces Roger Draper who has joined the RFL. He will take up the new role from 1 January 2017. 

Fitzpatrick played for Widnes, Salford and Ireland, and spent six years at Warrington’s football manager and welfare officer. He was promoted to the role of head of rugby operations in August last year.

He said: “It is a privilege and honour to be promoted in to this position.

“Based on a philosophy of continuous improvement and actively listening to our sponsors and supporters I will be part of a great team that will proceed to enhance the Warrington brand. `

“In recent years there has been positive momentum gained both off and on the pitch it is important this is maintained.

“I’m also looking forward to continue working with one of the best managers in the game, Tony Smith. I’d like to thank Simon (Moran) and his Board of Directors for providing this opportunity.”

Professor Steven Broomhead of the Club said: “The Board are very pleased to appoint Karl, as he brings with him a rich experience in the sport. 

“It is good to appoint an individual who has invested so strongly in his own personal development and that of others. 

“We are certain that Karl with build on the positive momentum we have established at the Wolves in the past couple of years.”
