Storm can improve: Smith

Despite Melbourne’s undefeated start to the season, skipper Cameron Smith says there is still room for improvement.

The Storm will look to extend their unbeaten run when they face the Sydney Roosters at AAMI Park on Sunday.

But Smith wants to up the level of performance.

“Building pressure with the footy is key,” Smith said.

“We haven’t played our best footy thus far, but it’s a good sign to get three victories when you’re not playing so well.”

The Storm demolished Gold Coast 30-6 last weekend with Billy Slater in fine form, becoming the most prolific try scoring full-back in history.

Cameron insists however that the Storm’s attack is still capable of becoming more dangerous.

“We’re defending really well and getting through tough periods of matches,” added Smith.

“It’s a part of our game that we spend a lot of time on but in these next few weeks we need to fine tune our attack and start building a bit more pressure with the footy.”
