Catalans star Sam Moa has been fined and banned, but Widnes co-captain Chris Houston has accepted a two-match ban.

Moa pleaded guilty but challenged the grading of a Grade B high tackle in the Dragons’ defeat at Huddersfield Giants.

The independent rules tribunal, consisting of Rodney Grant, Stuart Fielden and Neil Turley, agreed with the grading and Moa receives a two-match suspension and £500 fine, plus the forfeits of the £500 challenge bond.

Vikings forward Houston accepted a two-match penalty notice for disputing a decision of a match official in their loss at Salford Red Devils.

Elsewhere, North Wales Crusaders ace Alex Trumper pleaded not guilty but was found guilty of a Grade D dangerous contact charge and has been handed a three-match ban and a £75 fine.

Dewsbury Rams star Macauley Hallett’s case was adjourned to allow the player more time to prepare for a tribunal.

Barrow Raiders’ Ryan Fieldhouse accepted a two-match suspension for Grade C striking.
