It would be bad for Super League if London were replaced by Toronto, says Marwan Koukash

Ex-Salford owner Marwan Koukash believes Super League would be damaged if Toronto replaced London in 2020.

Wakefield, Huddersfield, Hull KR and London are all joint bottom of the Super League table on 20 points, with just one game of the season remaining.

The Broncos remain the favourites to go down but Koukash believes it would a negative if they were replaced by promotion favourites Toronto.

He tweeted: “After tonight’s [Friday] performance, it would be very bad for rugby league if London were to be relegated and replaced in Super League by Toronto.

“Last year, rugby league experts took it for granted that Toronto will be promoted and they are doing it again this year!

“I really think Leigh Centurions will be the team to be promoted.”
