Chase, Hansen and Maitua set for Leigh

Salford trio Rangi Chase, Harrison Hansen and Reni Maitua are on their way to Leigh next season, according to club owner Derek Beaumont.

The Centurions ended their season with a 50-6 thumping at the hands of Widnes, but are set to bolster their squad with more quality arrivals, following the addition of Cory Paterson last week.

Beaumont has boldly stated that he will have no qualms in breaking the Championship salary cap as he looks to get his team in to the top flight.

Much-fancied Leigh finished bottom of the Super 8s Qualifiers after winning just one of their seven games.

Earlier in the season, they defeated Salford and Wakefield in the Challenge Cup and also gave Warrington a run for their money at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

But they couldn’t repeat that in the Super 8s.

Maitua has Championship experience, having spent the first phase of the season at Featherstone, while Chase and Hansen have been allowed to leave the AJ Bell Stadium ahead of a winter of re-building.
