The Royal Navy came from 10-0 behind in the Challenge Cup against the British Army to claim a 14-10 victory to progress to the third round.

The clash went the full distance with a 10-10 draw, with the Royal Navy claiming the victory in golden point through Joey Sugden.

It was the first ever meeting of the Forces rivals in the competition.

The Challenge Cup tie was streamed live on the Sportsman.

Elsewhere in the Challenge Cup, York Acorn defeated Wests Warriors 28-10 in the early kick off.

Rochdale Mayfield defeated West Hull 18-16 away from home. League 1’s Rochdale Hornets host Midlands Hurricanes on Sunday, January 30, live on the BBC.

Siddal booked their place in the third round with victory over fellow NCL Premier Division side Pilkington Recs at a windy Ruskin Drive.

The Halifax side adapted to the conditions quicker, and ran in four first half tries before Pilks could respond.

The hosts did pull two tries back, but another two tries before the end ensured Siddal’s place in the third round of the Challenge Cup.

Hunslet Club Parkside beat Stanningley 22-12 at home.

League 1’s North Wales Crusaders played their first game of 2022 away at Leigh Miners Rangers. Anthony Murray’s side put on a professional display to claim a 40-8 victory away from home. There were four debuts for the Crusaders in Harry Swarbrick, Liam Aspin, Paul Nash and Matt Fletcher.

Finally, London Skolars defeated London Chargers 40-22 in a battle in the capital.
