Bateman: Scotland could bite us on the arse

John Bateman says England cannot afford to take Scotland lightly otherwise the Scots will “bite them on the arse”.

England and Scotland meet for the first time ever at Test level in rugby league on Saturday in Coventry.

It is a must win game for England after their defeat to New Zealand.

Bateman will come up against a number of current and former teammates in the Scotland side, such as Lewis Tierney and Danny Addy.

“I know a few of them. They’ve got a good side, we can’t underestimate them,” he said.

“We have to turn up for the Scotland team otherwise it’ll bite us on the arse.

“I think that’s what we’ll do, we’ll turn up next week and play our best and try as put as many points on them to try and get the win.”
