Hull KR’s Super League clash at home to Warrington will go ahead as planned, the club has confirmed.

Snow and freezing conditions have raised doubts over the four fixtures scheduled for Friday night.

But in a tweet, the Robins confirmed the game is going ahead and encouraged fans to bring their hats and scarves.

Opponents Warrington are scheduled to leave for the 230-mile round-trip at 11am. Last year, the Wolves arrived late to Craven Park and forced kick-off to be delayed.

Game on: Huddersfield v Castleford

The Friday night Sky Sports televised clash is at the John Smith’s Stadium, where Huddersfield host Castleford. The Giants tweeted early in the afternoon to confirm that the game will go ahead.

A club statement read: “All fans that currently sit in the Chadwick Lawrence will move to the Core Stand Lower, to ensure little disruption. Core Stand Lower Season Card Holders must sit in their allocated seats, with Chadwick Lawrence Season Card holders asked to find a free seat in the Core Stand.

“This decision has been made in the interest of safety due to the predicted sub-zero temperatures, we apologise for disruption to fans.

“Away Supporters (Castleford) will still be situated in the Magic Rock Brewing stand as normal, but are urged to pre-buy with the Ticket Office being understaffed due to the weather.

“The Ticket Office is open, but as above, fans are urged to pre-buy online to minimise disruption.

“All Supporters will receive a free hot drink once inside the stadium, with turnstiles opening at 7:00pm.

“The FanZone has been cancelled tonight due to safety reasons.

“All Hospitality areas will remain open as normal.

“Block 7 fans will congregate in Block 2 in the Core Stand Lower.”

Game on: Leeds v Wakefield

Leeds have confirmed that their game at Headingley against Wakefield is on.

The Rhinos detailed their precautions against the snow forecast.

A statement said: “With the forecast snow having arrived in Leeds overnight, the Leeds Rhinos operation team have swung into action to make sure tonight’s Betfred Super League clash with Wakefield Trinity at Headingley will go ahead as planned.

“There was steady snow showers up until 4am and before a heavy front of snow arrived after that. The undersoil heating at Headingley has been on for two days; and has ensured the pitch is playable tonight despite around 75mm of snow falling all around the stadium.

“Head Groundsman Ryan Golding and his team had plans in place before the snow to deal with the forecast snowfall with the pitch cleared early on Friday morning and the club bringing in private contractors to clear the car parks and St Michaels Lane.”

No concerns in Lancashire

On the west side of the Pennines, Leigh Leopards are due to host St Helens at Leigh Sports Village.

There appears to be no concerns over the conditions in the local area, with the sun shining over the Leigh Sports Village earlier in the day.
