Willie Peters questioned a potentially pivotal moment for Hull KR during their 21-14 defeat to Warrington at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Starting hooker Matt Parcell was on the end of an unpunished tackle that saw him leave the field with a head injury and not return for the second half.

The blow forced Peters into more changes in his spine, having alread been without Jordan Abdull, Lachlan Coote and Rowan Milnes due to respective injuries.

Sam Wood was introduced into the action from the bench and slotted into the halves alongside Mikey Lewis, with Jez Litten moved to his favoured position at nine.

“Matty [Parcell] seems to think it was a forearm,” said Peters.

“I’m not sure how you can go down and be concussed if there’s not something.

“I’ve not seen it, but it’s a big moment in the game.”

Willie Peters admits to mixed emotions

Hull KR had found themselves 12-0 up thanks to tries through Ethan Ryan and Kane Linnett in the first 20, before Josh McGuire hit back with his first try in Warrington colours for a 12-6 score at the break.

Ben Currie then managed to beat Wood on his outside to level the scores at 12-12, with Hull KR’s only second half points coming from a Mikey Lewis penalty conversion.

Ratchford once again levelled the scores at 14-14, before Lewis hit the post with another penalty conversion effort.

The Warrington skipper then gave his side their first lead from the boot, before Matty Ashton scored a vital try in the latter stages, and George Williams sealing the victory with a drop-goal.

The win sees Daryl Powell’s side go two points clear at the top following Wigan’s defeat to Leeds.

Peters admitted to mixed emotions following the game.

“It’s one of those games where you don’t know whether to be happy or disappointed,” he said,

“I’m definitely proud of the effort we put in because we had a lot of adversity thrown at us in the game and before the game with players playing out of position, so it wasn’t going to be perfect.

“It was outstanding in terms of effort. But there was some ill discipline we need to fix up because that game was there for us to win. It just came down to key moments and we’ll have to have a look at that.”
