Three North Wales born youngsters are to be given a chance of a lifetime and train with the Wales Rugby League squad in October.

They are Dale Blackmore, aged 19 from Prestatyn who plays for Rochdale Hornets, Liam Kennedy aged 20 from Abergele who plays for Widnes Vikings Reserves and Gavin Williams age 19 from Mold plays for Warrington Wolves, like his older brother Rhys.

Wales take on Italy at The Racecourse Ground and Sunday 3rd October then the Wales under 23 squad will also take on the Italians three days later in Colwyn Bay and these three youngsters will be pushing for a place in the latter.

All three are regularly playing with reserve or academy sides for their clubs with Blackmore breaking into the Hornets’ first team earlier this season.

Wales coach Iestyn Harris said: “Training with the full Wales squad in North Wales will be a great opportunity for the youngsters. I hope that they will take it with both hands and make the most of the experience. It’s fantastic that we have so many Welsh-born players coming through and now that we have our first ever under 23 match coming up, there is a clear pathway for them to develop as we look towards the 2013 World Cup.”
