Two in, one out at Whitehaven

Whitehaven have signed forwards Tom Walker and Glenn Riley but Carl Forster has left the club.

Prop Walker has penned a two-year deal with Haven and joins from Cumbrian neighbours Barrow.

He said: “I’ve been keeping an eye on the club all year and they’ve done great.

“We want to retain Championship status and give a few teams a shock, especially when they have to travel up here to the Recre [Recreation Ground] with the solid, local team we have.”

Riley follows Walker in making the switch from Barrow and he has signed a one-year contract with Haven.

He commented: “I’m delighted to have signed back at my hometown club.

“It feels like there is a real buzz around the place and the club seems to be going from strength and strength.”

Prop Forster is off-contract and has decided not to sign a new deal with the club due to wanting to be closer to his St Helens home.
