Leigh head coach Adrian Lam says that Krisnan Inu could make his debut against Bradford in the Challenge Cup on Monday evening.

Inu, 34, signed with the Centurions earlier in February for the remainder of the Championship campaign.

The experience centre or winger had been playing in the French Elite Championship for FC Lezignan XIII.

He has since linked up with Lam’s side, but is fighting an injury to make his debut in the fifth round of the Challenge Cup.

Leigh travel to Bradford on Monday night, live on Premier Sports.

Adrian Lam pre-match press conference

“Everyone’s included that’s available for us at the moment,” Lam said during his weekly press conference.

“That includes Krisnan Inu and everyone else that’s available. Obviously it’s a big game for us and it’s good that we’re in that position where the only two players who aren’t considered are Chris Green and James McDonnell, who is cup tied.

“Krisnan been quite good. He’s arrived here and got a little bit of an injury on his foot at the moment, so we’re just managing that process. That’s on a day-to-day basis, so we’ll give him right up to captain’s run to be considered.

“He’s a big body. He’s already been involved with some of our training runs and you can see he’s a hard player to tackle because of his size. That’ll certainly play its part during the season in our squad.”

Chris Green update

Forward Chris Green has been sidelined with injury after leaving the field during the club’s clash with Featherstone.

Green shared his scans following the injury, confirming a broken arm.

Lam provided an update, saying: “He’s very good. Chris is back with us training at the moment and he’s working on getting his conditioning right. He’s four weeks post-operation.

“The timeframe will be between eight and 12 weeks. That’s roughly what we’re looking at but he’s certainly on the mend.”
