JJB return eased by rain at Headingley

Jamie Jones-Buchanan was delighted to be back in action at last on Saturday against Catalans Dragons, after a season which has been marred by injury.

He was also pleased to see the grey skies and rain falling, as it made his return to action just that little bit less tiring.

“I was quite grateful for the conditions,” he told Rhinos TV.

“It meant it slowed things down a little bit.

“You’re not going to throw the ball around too much when it’s wet, although Catalans were chancing their arm late on, and I thought they showed some really good skill.

“I thought it would slow the game down, and make it more of a forwards battle up the middle with a bit of bash and crash, and that’s what it turned into.

“That suited me, and it gave me a chance to test out the fitness and the muscles, and I’m really happy with the result.”
