Gold Coast put the blocks on Elliot’s move to Leigh

Gold Coast utility back Brendan Elliot will not be joining Leigh for the rest of the season, according to reports Down Under.

Elliot, 24, was announced by the Centurions on July 10 on a deal until the end of 2018 “following his release” from the Titans.

However, coach Garth Brennan told the Gold Coast Bulletin: “At this stage I don’t think he will be (released).

“Dale Copley has gone for the season and Tyronne Roberts-Davis sustained an injury at Burleigh at training that may see him out for a lengthy period of time.

“And if that’s the case we just can’t afford to let Brendan go at this point.”

Leigh have been approached for comment.
