Swinton forward Gavin Bennion has praised the togetherness of his team-mates, and links it to the form of the Lions.

Stuart Littler’s side most recently featured in a thrilling encounter against Bradford, with only a last-minute try from Connor Farrell drawing the points level at 34-34 with both teams sharing the spoils.

The Lions sit ninth in the Championship table, and are in a select handful of teams that have defeated Toulouse Olympique in France, whilst also picking up impressive victories against Batley and Dewsbury.

Bennion commented: “We’re such a close group and we enjoy spending time with each other.

“We’re always celebrating a good win with each other and even when we lose, we are there together as well.

“It’s a really close group of good lads and we’ve got something special.

“We’ve had some really tough games recently and to beat Toulouse away, Batley at home and then to go and draw away at Bradford is a great achievement for us group of boys and it shows how hard we work for each other.”

Swinton will face Barrow at Heywood Road this Sunday, with tickets slashed to just £10 and children can attend for free in their ‘Family Fun Day’ event.
