Gallen after Super League stint

Paul Gallen is open to finishing his playing career in Super League.

The Cronulla captain is off-contract at the Sharks at the end of 2017.

Gallen, currently in the UK for the World Club Challenge, said he is interested in having a spell in England next year.

“I wouldn’t rule (a Super League stint) out,” he told Rugby League Week.

“Obviously at my age, as long as I’m playing OK … I’ve got to see how the body pulls up at the end of each year.

“I’ve got a long year of NRL ahead of me so I’ll just wait and see but England is always a place I’ve really loved coming to.”

Gallen has spent his whole NRL career at Cronulla after joining from Parramatta as a junior.

The forward turns 36 in August.
