Tame Tupou signed for Brisbane Broncos in 2004. In the Broncos’ 2006 Premiership-winning season Tupou was join-leading try-scorer with Darren Lockyer, but he was sent on loan to Queensland Cup side Aspley Broncos in 2007. Tupou joined Bradford Bulls in April 2007 as a replacement for Lesley Vainikolo, making a try-scoring debut in the Challenge Cup quarter-final win over Huddersfield Giants. He played for New Zealand in the 2007 Test series against Great Britain. Injuries caused Tupou to struggle in 2008 and he had to undergo a knee reconstruction. He is not expected to return to action until April 2009.
