Profile
Washbrook is a product of the Hull FC Academy and spent most of his career with in Humberside, playing for club for seven seasons. Washbrook was promoted to the Hull FC senior side in 2005 and made four first team appearances in his first season. He made his first team debut in Hull’s 44-6 home win over eventual Superleague X league leaders St Helens.
Washbrook became a first team regular for Hull from 2006, making 20 starts for the club and scoring two tries in wins against Warrington and Salford. Hull finished second thanks to 20 wins over the season, 14 of which featuring Washbrook at Loose Forward. Washbrook featured in all of FC’s playoff matches including the Grand Final defeat to St Helens at the end of the season.
Washbrook kept up his regular first team appearances for Hull in 2007 playing 25 games. He scored the only try in FC’s 42-6 defeat to local rivals Hull Kingston Rovers on September 2nd.
During the 2008 pre season, Washbrook suffered a posterior cruciate knee ligament in training and was ruled out for two months but played Hull’s opening games of the Superleague XIII season and went on to play 26 games over the season. Washbrook scored 5 tries including three in three consecutive games against Huddersfield, Hull KR and Harlequins.
In 2009 he was plagued by recurring problems from the ligament damage he had suffered the previous year and only made 10 appearances. He spent much of the 08/09 seasons playing in the Stand Off position for Hull. Washbrook went on to make regular appearances for Hull during his final two seasons including playing, and scoring, in Hull’s crushing 52-16 defeat of Salford City Reds on July 8th.
On 19th September 2011 it was announced that Washbrook would join Wakefield on a three year deal.
