Profile
Ellis signed for National League One side Hull Kingston Rovers in 2003 at the age of 19 and stayed with the Rovers through until the end of the 2006 season. In that time he made 41 appearances including 27 in the 2005 season when he became a consistent first team player. He also scored 16 tries in his time at the club. Ellis featured in the Northern Rail Cup winning squad of 2005 when KR defeated Castleford in the final of the competition on July 17th at Bloomfield Road.
At the start of the 2007 season Ellis moved on to Barrow Raiders where he played almost 100 games across 3 seasons and scored 52 tries. In 2009 Ellis featured heavily for the Raiders helping them to win the league title and reach the National Rail Cup Final scoring 17 tries in all competitions during the season. He was also named Championship Man of Steel and Player of the Year for 2009.
After making his mark with Barrow, Ellis was spotted by Super League club Harlequins and went on to sign for the London club for the 2010 season. He scored 3 tries in 13 appearances in his first season at the club followed by 5 tries in 24 games during the 2011 season. His first, and second, try for the club came in the third round of the season which saw Harlequins pull off a thrilling 36-26 win over Leeds Rhinos at Headingly.
On August 3rd 2011 Wakefield Trinity Wildcats announced the signing if the 26 year old from Harlequins on a two year deal.
