Terry Newton played for Wigan St Judes before signing at Warrington. He was unable to break through at Warrington, instead joining Leeds, making his debut after being suspended for nearly a year after a dispute between the two clubs over his transfer. Newton played for the Rhinos in both the 1998 Super League Grand Final and the 1999 Challenge Cup final. He joined Wigan Warriors for the start of 2000, going on to play in three losing Grand Finals. He played for Great Britain in the 2003 Ashes series and again in the 2004 Tri-Nations. Newton signed for Bradford Bulls in 2005, making his debut in April 2006 after serving a suspension. A shoulder injury kept him out of the 2008 World Cup.
