Baile, a centre, began his career playing league with AS Carcassonne but then chose to switch codes for a short period of time, playing union with the Stade Toulousain juniors before deciding to switch codes yet again, joining his present club the Dragons in 2008. He managed to make an instant impact for the club, grabbing the Rookie of the Year award in his first season. Overall, he has now played 43 games for Catalan, crossing the line for 14 tries. With a strong willingness to succeed, Jean-Philippe has great physical aspects to his game and the technique to go with it. He is also very versatile, having played his primary position centre, but also appearing as a hooker and even on the wing.
