Profile

Baitieri, a loose forward, had a lot to live up to being the son of Tas Baitieri, a former coach and player himself. Jason began his career playing junior rugby league in Toulouse, before returning to Australia, specifically New South Wales, to play for the Hills District Bulls in a junior league. He was then snapped up by the Sydney Roosters, but having played only one game for them against the Wests Tigers, he moved to Catalan itching to make an impact on the Super League, still at the very young age of 21. Trent Robinson put faith in him, putting pen to paper on a 2-year contract, and Baitieri didn’t disappoint, turning out 26 times for the club, scoring six tries, and grabbing the Rookie of the Year award for himself in the process. Seen as a workhorse, his bold defensive skills have made him a crucial part of the Catalan pack.
