Promising young back rower Andrew Dixon has signed a new three year deal at St Helens.

Second row/loose forward Dixon, 19, joins Matty Ashurst and Gary Wheeler in committing his future to the club.

The Blackbrook amateur has made three appearances for Saints in 2009 and is currently recovering well from a wrist injury that has sidelined him for the last three months.

Saints Chief Executive Tony Colquitt said: “Andrew is another player who has taken his opportunities when they have been presented.
“He is a committed and talented member of the first team squad, has a good attitude to learn from those around him and works hard.

“He is well on the way to recovery after an operation on his wrist and we look forward to seeing him back in the Red Vee shortly.”

Dixon has represented Lancashire since the age of 13 and has also played for England at u16s, u17s and u18s.
