Castleford’s new recruit Youngquest shares a house with his former Crusaders RL team-mate Tommy Lee, who will line up for Wakefield this season, and their battle will provide a personal highlight for both players at Millennium Magic on Saturday February 12 (5.00).
“Bragging rights are at stake for me and Tommy and we’re both determined to start the season with our new clubs with a win,” said Youngquest.
“I’ve enjoyed pre-season at Castleford and whilst the trial games have been good, we’re all ready and raring to go in Round One. Starting well is important to every team and we want to put ourselves in the best possible position and hit the ground running.”
Youngquest’s former club Crusaders RL narrowly beat Castleford to the last play-off place in the 2010 Engage Super League and the Australian is confident the Tigers can make the top eight this time around.
“It is a big year for Castleford and hopefully we make the play-offs – I don’t see any reason why we can’t,” he said. “We have a great squad and good support so it is an exciting time for the club and exciting to be here.
“There are quite a few new players in the squad and we are all fitting in well and working hard together. The season is only around the corner and we are hoping to put in some solid performances.
“It is a big year with the Super League licence review and I am looking forward to a good year at Castleford.”
