Featherstone have handed a one-year extension to young half-back Jake Sweeting.
Sweeting, 21 arrived last year from Castleford and scored a hat-trick in the pre-season friendly away at Valencia Huracanes.
He said: “I’m really happy to be signing an extension for next year and getting out there playing for Featherstone again. I have really enjoyed my first year here so far and glad the club has given me the chance to play for another season, I can’t wait for the season to get started again.”
Sweeting is yet to make his Championship bow, though did star in Featherstone’s two Challenge Cup games against Barrow and Hunslet.
Football Manager Steve Gill added: “I’m really pleased for the club that we have been able to secure Jake for another year, he has really impressed in the short time he has been with the club.
“He has time on his side to make it at the highest level and hopefully that will be with us. We’re adding some real quality and some fantastic young men to the squad as we look to build something special for 2021 and beyond.”
Last week, Rovers confirmed the signings of Leeds youngsters Loui McConnell and Liam Whitton.
