Young Parramatta half-back Brad Murray has had his contract terminated by mutual consent, as he concentrates on life outside the game.
Murray, 21, signed a first-grade deal with the Eels in 2010, but is yet to make an NRL appearance for the club.
He said: “I want to thank the Parramatta Eels for everything they’ve done for me.
“I need some time away from the game to focus on other interests and they’ve been very understanding of that.
“Hopefully I’ll be in a position to return to the game in the near future.”
Eels Chief Executive Paul Osborne added: “Obviously it’s been a difficult time for Brad and we wish him all the best in the future. We hope to see him playing again soon.”
