Young Catalans trio handed deals

Catalans have handed new deals to three products of their academy system.

Hooker Alrix Da Costa heads the list, signing a two-year deal having made 18 Super League appearances this season.

Centre Arthur Romano, 20, has signed his first two-year contract after making his Super League debut this season, appearing twice before suffering a season ending Achilles injury.

Completing the trio is Georgy Gambaro, 19, who joined the club’s academy system from Carcassonne in 2015 and has signed a one-year professional deal.

Coach Steve McNamara said: “I’m really pleased Alrix, Georgy and Arthur have committed themselves to the Dragons.

“It is essential for our growth as a club that we nurture our young home grown talent and develop them into First Grade players.

“I look forward to working closely with all three of these players in the pre season.”
