York have bolstered their pack for 2019 with the addition of Dewsbury Rams front-rower Jack Teanby.

The 22-year-old has a wealth of experience in the Championship, having played 70 games for Dewsbury since his debut back in 2016.

Teanby is looking forward to playing under York coach James Ford, who recently led them to promotion to the Championship from League 1.

On signing for the Knights, Teanby said: “I’m really looking forward to joining York.

“They have had a lot of recent success and hopefully I can help continue that winning mentality in the new season.

“I’ve only heard loads of good stuff about York which helped with my decision.

“Fordy is a quality coach with great facilities at his disposal, and his ambitions for the club and where they want to go really made me want to be a part of something special.”

On securing the services of Teanby, Ford said: “Jack has shown plenty of potential over the last few seasons at Dewsbury whilst establishing himself as a Championship front-rower.

“He is good in contact and plays with lots of intensity. I was very attracted to his attitude towards hard work and development.

“If Jack works as hard on his game as I’m suspecting he will, he’ll kick onto another level.”
