York have signed half-back Morgan Smith from London Broncos for the 2021 Championship season.

The 22-year-old made 25 appearances for Warrington before joining the Broncos in 2019, going on to play 17 games for the capital club.

York coach James Ford said: “I’m very excited to work with Morgan and help him kick on and fulfil his potential.

“I was very impressed with his maturity, intelligence and drive to be the best he can be. I’m confident he’ll fit right in and help us progress in the direction we’re aiming.

“Morgan has good defensive contact, an intelligent attacking game, and I believe he can develop into an outstanding running threat.

“I see Morgan as a pivotal member of our squad and I can’t wait to start working with him.”

Smith added: “I’m really happy to have signed with the Knights.

“I know that the club is on the up with plenty of ambition and I’ve seen the progress they have made over the last couple of years with a coach who I believe can help me improve and progress personally.

“Personally, I want to play the best rugby I ever have in 2021 but my overall aim is to do as much as I can to help the club push for promotion.”
