York have re-signed centre Liam Salter on a one-year deal but Ash Robson and Matt Chilton have left the club.

Salter, 26, joined the Knights from Hull KR ahead of the 2019 campaign and made 27 appearances for the club.

Knights coach James Ford said: “I’m really pleased that we’ve retained Liam, we all enjoyed working with him and deeply respect what he brings to the side.

“He runs great metres out of exit, generates good ruck speed, runs strong lead lines, hits hard and works tremendously hard in defence.

“Despite playing a heap of Super League games, Liam’s attitude towards tidying up one or two small areas was inspiring for us all and we’re excited to see that same approach help him find new heights in his game.”

Full-back Robson departed the Knights after his contract was terminated by mutual consent, while winger Chilton has left the club due to work commitments.
