York coach James Ford will take on the 26-mile Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on October 18 to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Great Britain and Leeds legend Rob Burrow was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 2019 and a group of Burrow’s friends will walk the 26-mile Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on Sunday, October 18, to show their support for Burrow.

Ford said: “It’s the least we can do to support a close friend who has brought so much joy to so many lives.

“Rob has been described as many things in his career, but for me there’s no more fitting word than inspirational, I’m convinced there’s a great number of current players in the game because of Rob.

“I know first hand how grateful he would be for anyone to support his fight against MND and help raise awareness for everyone else suffering from this horrendous disease.”
