Yeaman planning back row switch

Hull FC centre Kirk Yeaman thinks that a switch of positions will help to give his career fresh impetus.

Yeaman has currently lost his first-team spot to youngster Jack Logan, and he feels that the time may have come to move into the forward pack.

“Where I play when I come back into the team is firmly up to the coach. Jack Logan took my spot and he deserves to keep it at the minute. He’s been playing really well,” he told the Hull Daily Mail.

“He’s earned that spot. For me, I’d like to move up into the back row now and try my hand in the pack. I’m not as quick as I was a couple of years ago.

“I’m still running good lines and I think the back row would suit me down to the ground. But I’ll train hard and my aim is to be in Radders’ 17-man squad. That’s all that matters to me now.

“They are similar positions, but obviously you have to do a lot more hard work in defence.

“I’ve had stints in there throughout my career and enjoyed it. It will be nice to get my hands on the ball a bit earlier so I think it will suit me.”
