Hull centre Kirk Yeaman will sit out the next few weeks after undergoing minor surgery on a foot injury.

Yeaman, 28, was forced off in Friday’s win at St Helens with an arm injury, and the club have decided to address a long standing foot problem while the England centre recovers from that knock.

Head coach Peter Gentle told the club’s official website: “We felt it was an opportune time to get Kirk in for his operation as he has been struggling with a minor problem with his foot.

“He had surgery on Saturday and we’ll know more shortly about how long his rehabilitation period is expected to be.”

He left the field after 23 minutes at Langtree Park, to be replaced by Jordan Turner, who would go on to score a try in the 22-10 win on Merseyside.

Yeaman, a one club man, has made more than 250 appearances for the Airlie Birds, and had scored three tries in five Super League appearances this season.
