Hull FC centre Kirk Yeaman is using his desire for a new deal at the club for extra motivation in the 2015 campaign.

The 31-year-old former England international is out of contract at the end of the season, but is keen to extend his future at the KC Stadium.

“I am playing for a deal now and my aim is to perform week in, week out and earn that deal,” Yeaman told the Hull Daily Mail.

“I don’t want to go anywhere else, I want to stay here and earn the right to be here. That’s my goal, to get a new deal.

“I want to play every game. I’m not getting any younger. The old saying is that you’re a long time retired so I just want to play as many games as I can and look forward to the season.

“I’m looking to cement a place in the team and show that I deserve to be here. Not just in my position, but competition for places is so hot this year and it can only bring out the best in you.

“I feel like I’ve gone well in pre-season and I’m ready to fight for my place.”
