Bradford Bulls‘ back row forward Michael Worrincy is set to try his hand in the NRL with Penrith Panthers, where former Bulls boss Matthew Elliott is in charge.

Leeds-born Worrincy, 24, began his career as a sixteen year old with the then London Broncos. He spent the 2005 season on loan at Hull FC before returning to Harlequins RL from where he joined the Bulls in 2009, having made a name for himself as one of the most athletic back-rows in Super League.

Worrincy said: “I’m grateful to the Bulls for helping me develop as a player and I would like to thank the Club for making it possible for me to take this opportunity in Australia.”

Added Bradford Bulls chairman Peter Hood: “Opportunities for players from this Federation to test themselves in the NRL don’t come along very often, so when Michael got his chance we certainly didn’t wish to stand in his way. We thank Michael for his efforts and wish him the very best of success ‘down under’.
