Sheffield Eagles have confirmed that Rob Worrincy and Duane Straugheir have signed new full-time contracts at the club.

Back rower or centre Straugheir, 26, has inked a new two-year deal, and is delighted to be staying at the club.

“I’m thrilled to be continuing my playing career at the Eagles,” he said.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far and looking forward to starting pre-season.

“There will be a lot of new faces with a few of the lads leaving but there is a still a good core here and it’s an exciting time for the club.”

Winger Worrincy, 30, has signed a one-year contract with the Eagles, and is now hoping to build on the success of 2015 next season.

“I’m happy to have penned a new deal with the Eagles,” he said.

“We had a great season in 2015, making the top four and defeating Wakefield in our final game.

“The aim is to build on 2015 and with the club moving full time, I really believe we can do that. The club is making progress on and off the field and that’s something I want to be a part of.”
