Workington Town have confirmed the good news that Scott Rooke has now been discharged from hospital and will continue his recovery at home.

Rooke suffered a serious injury in Workington’s annual friendly game with local rivals Whitehaven on February 4.

He was taken to hospital and remained in there since the incident, but the Cumbrian club have now confirmed that Rooke has now returned home.

In a short statement, Town said: “The club is delighted to say that Scott has been discharged from hospital and will continue his recovery from his injury at home.

“We are continuing to support Scott and his family as he recovers and will work with him and the RFL Benevelont Fund as he continues his journey back to fitness.

“During his hospital stay Scott has demonstrated the same grit and determination he shows on the pitch and as a club we are very proud of his progress.”

Love Rugby League wishes Scott a speedy recovery.
